But these pirates sailed in ashes
ashes of the whitest intentions
intentions thrown carelessly in our direction
begging for our affections
crumbled and crippled hopes
hopes you would be my after all
all that warms my bones
bones drifting in snow
snow so dirty with broken homes
days without you so bitter
bitter and brittle sincerest our apologies my dear it was no fault of ours
