My Companion, Greed

Encased in the luster of silkiest robes, my black heart answers to the angel,
A gleaming golden touch, to fulfill the needs of I, though not much,
Thunder booms of doom as the wish is granted,
Intricate gold transformations, wherever the finger touches...
I test my new powers, heedless of the evil being beside me,
Luxurious coils of golden thread, towering walls of pure gold, smooth and sleek,
People rush to be the ally of a grand ruler, attracted by the glorious, devilish gold...
Time for the first feast of the day, the Chef’s best chicken is laid out in front of me,
Surprise seizes the room as the my teeth sinks into a chicken wing of pure gold, smooth and sleek,
Rushing to help is my queen, but not much can she do after she is turned into an intricate gold statue,
At last I see, my foolishness, for I am surrounded by nothing but gold...
As I lay dying, the evil entity beside me releases a burp and asks for seconds
