We walk alone
The color of our souls lights a path
Jazz plays to our footsteps
They're many of us.
We walk alone
Singing the spirituals of our rich African blood
I had a dream
We walked together
Hung up and around like decorations
Whippin's on our backs
We walk freely
If we follow the star
We can make peace
We can make a way
All of us as one
We no longer walk alone.
