Little Girl
“Little girl,”
You spat.
I am not a little girl.
Yes, I have a small frame,
But I am not little.
Your words of insult
Do not make me feel weak.
They make me want to prove
My worth to your naive brain.
I am brave.
I am willing to face
My fears and
See reality.
I am selfless.
I am willing to sacrifice
My own self,
Even die,
For those whom
Deserve another chance at life.
I am smart.
I am able to calculate
The best answer
That will prove you wrong.
I am peaceful.
I am willing to make amends
With others that desire
Reconciliation.
I am honest.
I will not lie
To those whom
I trust with my life.
I am not a “little girl.”
I am Divergent.
