As I delve deeper into this forest,
The outcome will never be what I envisioned.
An interconnected network of bandits roams here,
Prey is plentiful,
But subsistence is rare.

A chirp arises out of the eerie calm,
But this is no bird,
It is a phone

It signals these bandits at the call
The sci-fi kid is the deer
The basketball player the bear
Insults becomes claws
Popularity fuels his charge
Every insult spewed is not answered
For it would be worse to answer

For every fry
The poor kid cries
For every “ohhhh”
The poor kid asks “who”
In desperation he leaves
It is not over
Tomorrow will be no different

This forest has engulfed another
The deer has no choice
Change
He cannot take another day
But a deer does not thrive in a desert.
