The Chaos Theory
The Chaos Theory
I see a flash in the distance,
Then the dirt flies around us.
All sound is muffled in my ears,
I open my eyes to find myself on the ground.
As I slowly rose to my feet,
I see my friends and colleagues all around me.
I still hear no sound,
But I see my comrades screaming in pain.
As my hearing slowly restores,
The sound of flames and yelling grows ever louder,
Then I notice the gunfire.
I quickly turned, searching for my shield,
And instead, I find my brother in our vehicle.
The Jeep is engulfed in flames,
His bloody hand slamming against the glass.
I grab my rifle and strike at the glass, again and again,
But it refused to give, and I saw my brother fall, unmoving.
I cry, as bullets flied past me,
I turn to pick up a shield and face the enemy infantry,
As they charge full speed towards me, I slowly creep forward,
The shield absorbing every blow from their guns,
Until I reached a fellow comrade.
I picked up the rifle from her corpse and hold my ground.
This is War,
This is Hell,
And now, this is personal!
