A Train
The moon comes up to let the sun rest, it's 1:30 sharp
I crawl into bed, and hear in the distance
A multitude of harps
Slowly but surely, they come near my way
Progressively louder but still far away
A train on its tracks runs to this melodious tune
The one I've gotten use to
She sings me to sleep with her roar like a pearl
So smooth and pure, unlike the world's perils -
All of which seem to fade as she passes by
Her tune escalates and fluctuates
Mostly sadly, ere she dies
But first,
She rises to such a volume that is quite deceiving
She'll have you think the best is near
She'll have you blindly believing
Then
The harps fall down
To the ground
And the magnificent roars fade
The train makes a sound
One, then two, but none ever the same
So she goes on her way, passing by, singing me her song
I enjoy her tune, every second
Because I know it won't be long
Then slowly, but surely, Time slows down to yawn
Before I know it,
Here comes rising Dawn.
