The wet pavement is slick beneath my bare feet
The plump raindrops tumble down,
tickling my eyelashes
and decorating my cheeks
The thick air circles me
and the puddles embrace my feet
The lightning flashes and the thunder
booms loudly overhead
I stay outside though because
when everything around me is in turmoil,
I am at peace
