8000 miles away
I’m thinking about you from 8000 miles away,
About how you were there when I took my first breath
And when I took my first step
You were there when I came home crying
And when I was sick and tired of trying
You were there is listen to my endless complaints
And when it felt like the sky was about to fall,
You were there to tell me that it would all be okay,
You always knew exactly what to say
You were there to wipe away the storm of tears pouring from my eyes
And to help me through the turbulent tides
You were there when I felt like I had no one,
To help me cheer up, move on, and have fun
You were there to make me feel like there was hope
And you were there to be like a strong rope,
Holding me back from molding into what society wants me to be
You were there to make the hard times easy
And to make the good times last
Now I lie here, 8000 miles away,
Wondering why it couldn't forever be that way...
