Shame
You’re a parent,
so how could you look into that boy’s eyes
and utter to him complete lies?
Screaming at him constantly that you hope he dies.
You pack his clothes and throw them on the sidewalk,
the ones that are tinted with white and red chalk.
He drew them there, and scribbled next to the picture,
“I love Mommy”
but do you care?
No, because the only thing you see in that picture
is the rainbows,
Thinking that all along your child was just a psycho.
Why? Because of his preference?
Did you have to make him come back with a vengeance?
That boy would die for you.
Now you sit there and laugh as he cries for you?
But now its 10 years later, and he’s achieved fame.
As you watch him on TV, you bow your head in shame.
Its funny how you thought he would disgrace the family name.
As he tells the audience the award is dedicated to his lover,
your saddened to think it could’ve been dedicated to his mother.
Now, who’s the one that's filled with shame?
