Song for the Lady in Black
I will lurk in the shadows,
for i am well known there.
There i will walk, hidden amongst trees, in the darkest forest of despair.
There, secreted away is a place,
colder than the feeling of true love slain.
Where the flowerbeds are flooded with the salty rivers of pain.
I was led there one night by the lady in black.
This song is for her because she brought me back.
We walk together yet alone on these moonlighted nights. Relieved by the fact that clouds hide us from view.
Our long, dark and lovely locks hide the tears that we shed.(though there is truely no need here of course.) And though she cries out aloud she will never be heard, we cannot be found here. Still, i am silent.
One night she stopped, dead in her tracks. seemingly waiting for me to catch up. When i finally reach her she spins on her heel. It's so like looking in a mirror it sends my head reel-ing. The sudden realization hits me like a sucker punch. She..is me. How i am on the inside.. never to be heard crying, locked inside. And i.. I am her.. as seen on the outside..tough and fierce, and silent.
I am the lady in black.
