Friendship Never Ends
The sun beaming earlier that day.
You just moved in and your new
to the school.
You walked out those glass doors
with a smile on your face and that
golden hair of yours.
We all saw you walk towards
us shy but filled with confidence.
About ready to take over the world.
Filled with pride and joy but yet scared.
Afraid of what our answers might be
what our reactions might be.
Now we step out of the playground,
wood chips crunch beneath our feet
two girls swinging on the swing making
that strange squeaking noise and enter
the paved gravel beneath us. I smile and I
just stand back. Everything turns to a mute.
Then you go and say, “hi” and we would
reply with a “hi” back. Then you introduce
yourself as, “Jenna” and I said, that my name
was “Brana.”
Here we are eight years later joking around.
We are both about to graduate high school
and move forward ready to help people out in
the world who are in need. Still I could see that
same hopeful smile. That girl, filled with joy,
with a wide grin flashing upon your shiny face
but has more confidence now
your eyes sparkle in the sunlight like
glitter sparkles in the suns presence
