Would it now?

Stop
defeated barely inside
weakened from a clash with my tongue
crawling to rush past clenched teeth
collapsed just short of my lips

That night
stop did not face a skirmish
although Alcohol tainted my breath
stop stormed out, again and again

He didn’t listen,
no one taught him respect
his failed lesson marks my life

Since then, no “stop”
has battled past my guards

It did not help then

Incase you missed my subtle point, the title of the poem makes sense if you read it after the last line of the poem. To explain this poem, not long ago a younger girl told me she was considering the college where the boy who tried to rape me two years ago currently attends. I wanted to tell her "Stop- please stop considering that school. He goes there. He could hurt you too. Stop looking at it, pick another school". But I was too afraid to tell anyone about him then, and I still am. Maybe this anonymous post will give me strength.
