Escape
I sit in on the concert,
the hard rock digs into my legs.
I hear the birds singing,
and watch them fly.
I smell the days of summer
and see the sun shining.
Few cars pass by,
I forget I’m in the city.
The concrete is soft sand,
on a beautiful beach.
I can hear the ocean waves,
hitting against the shore.
But then,
I snap back to reality,
and see the truth.
