Don't cry because it's over be happy because it happened

Short brown hair
Brilliant blue eyes
Tall slender frame
Swaggering saunter

Mommy why is daddy swaying?

Ever leaning, careening

Mommy why is daddy loud?

Always screaming, leaving
Two long legs
Fuzzy chin
Blue jeans
Plaid shirt

Daddy why is mommy sad?

Always crying, lying

Daddy why is mommy hurt?

Always bruised, confused

Deafening yell

Crushing grip

Blistering Anger
Chilling stare

Screaming again
Can’t sleep
Bright red lights
Police man at the door.

Mommy is on the floor.

Daddy is in the car.

Taking mommy to the white rooms.

Daddy goes away.

Mommy where has daddy gone?
“Away, not coming home.”
Mommy why did daddy leave?
“He isn’t daddy anymore.”
