Winter
The storm is never ending
The storm is fierce and unforgiving
Laying blankets of cold snow across the land
The world feels cold and dead
Trapped in a cage of frost, we remain inside
The snow builds up
Higher and higher with every passing minute
The sun struggles to shine through the dark clouds
Like a ghost that came and died
Warmth and light is a dream that doesn’t come true
The fire crackles, warming our home
The Christmas tree stands, sparkling in the light
Wrapped in blankets
Sipping our hot chocolate
We hibernate the storm away
