Looking Back
When I think of that night
my bones ache
my head spins
my toes curl under
I can still remember
the feeling of your tight embrace
as we slow danced
to a song that I still can’t listen to, to this day
the way you held me felt like home
we fit together like,
like peas and carrots
It’s sort of a tragic comedy
the story of us
the way it all played out
he was my other half
but I was not his
When I think of that night
I read
and reread
trying to figure out what went wrong
