She Hugs the Porcelain Bowl
She hates her life
She struggles
She dreams to be stick thin
A twig is her inspiration
A passion burns from within
She hugs a porcelain bowl
Purging is her small relief
They say
‘You’re perfect!’
‘Stick thin!’
‘How could you ever think differently?’
But they don’t know
What a wreck
She faces emotionally
Beaten at home
All alone
Never felt any self worth
So each night
After dinner
The snow white bowl
Is her very best friend
Feeble as leaves
She falls to the ground
Thudding sound
But nobody is listening
Crack, Thud, Smack
Her head makes the sounds
She’s home alone
So she let out her guts
In a gentle peace
Suddenly rests
Eternally
To sleep
There was no funeral
Because nobody cared
They never did
Nobody even weeps.
