Forgotten Love
What if I forget your face?
Or your voice?
Then I will forget what your voice sounded like.
Slowly I will start to forget you entirely.
Sure I have pictures.
But pictures don’t tell me the story.
The story of us.
How we met.
How we had the perfect love.
How we lost it all in a matter of seconds.
Pictures only tell appearances.
Not Stories.
It tells me about the facade we put on.
It tells me that I can’t remember.
I can’t remember you.
Nothing.
Yet at one time you meant everything to me.
How can someone so important become unrecognizable?
Now all you are is a face in a picture.
A name on a tombstone.
A distant memory that I really don’t know if you were real
Or just my imagination.
I can’t remember anything about you.
Were you even real?
