Transition
I look straight ahead.
Can't let you look into my eyes,
they will give me away. I
keep my lips pressed together,
in case a smile creeps onto my face.
My heart flutters,
as I notice you noticing me.
I try to concentrate.
But.
I Look.
Up.
Fatal mistake.
Your eyes
burrow into mine
trying to figure out
why I stopped.
Was it something you did?
Soon,
I know you will forget,
to remember my coldness
and I will slip from your memories,
like autumn fading to spring.
But for now,
I etch the feeling of you,
noticing me into my heart.
For soon that is all I will have left.
