I work really hard at trying to see the big picture and not getting stuck in ego. I believe we&#039;re all put on this planet for a purpose, and we all have a different purpose... When you connect with that love and that compassion, that&#039;s when everything unfolds.<br /> Ellen DeGeneres

Today’s world wants us to be smart and wise,
And to be thin or else you will be one to despise.

Today’s world wants us putting our effort into hour,
To see us become rich in money and power.

Today’s world wants us to live independent and strong,
Because these days divorce is no longer wrong.

Today’s world wants us to be educated in science and truth,
Because apparently the bible isn’t enough proof.

Today’s world wants us to use our ideas for good,
And that abortions are fine, they are just misunderstood.

Today’s world wants me to believe that everything will be okay,
But I fear that today’s world might be heading the wrong way.

Today’s world may see my opinions as immoral and untrue,
Because I might view today’s world, different than you.

I was inspired to write this poem after coming home from youth group one night. Our group was discussing all the things that society wants us to be now days, and I realized that I didn't like where society is heading. I began to write my ideas down on paper, and then made a poem out of my thoughts.

What an AMAZING poem. I love that you incorporated your faith and discussed the loss of values going on in the world without being offensive or rude. Great job girl!
