First Love
Breathe in. Breathe out.
Take a peek, take another.
Clenching the flowers, thorns poking his hand.
Step by step, he hears her walk.
Click clack, her pretty shoes go.
Badump Badump, his heart goes.
Scary what-ifs, she feels differently;
Smiles, not for him
Laughs, not with him
And loves him not.
Closer to him, close his eyes.
Remember the poem, remember the times.
Believe in the times, the love was there.
Calm the butterflies, calm him down.
Open his eyes, open his heart.
Take the step out, speak his mind.
Heart beating, she smiles.
Breathe in. Breathe out.
