Losing a Life

Her head in my hands
The heavy breathing
A cold light-weight body
Cold claws catch my shirt
And she grasps me tight
As i assume this is the last of her life
The yellow jungle eyes slowly slip Off to sleep
As i lay and weep
And when i hear her mournful cry
It brings out the hurt in my eyes
The tears begin to fall
And so i read to stall
But the little kitten small
And too young to die
Slowly stops breathing, and all i can do, is cry.
