Malnourished, spindly hands.
Stretched from holding onto her daughter
But torn away regardless.
Hopeless, spotted hands.
Worked endlessly down to the bone
Given up on freedom.
Shredded, strained hands
Turned bloody claws on the concrete walls
Grasping to be released from the nightmare.
Those poor hands
Cold in the shower of despair
Fallen in the midst of her people.
Dead, lifeless hands.
