The Thunder in the Mesa
He looked down
The world below was dark
It looked warm
But everything here was warm
He wasn’t
He couldn’t be
Pounding his fists in the air
He let out a loud call
Far into the distance
The creatures scampered away
Cowards who feared Thunder’s might
Their loss
They could not recognize it
His potential
He could help them
But they were too afraid
So he rests on his laurels
Waiting for the day
That they all realize
That the thunder
Isn’t there to scare them
But to save them
The mesa is quiet
All is quiet
Until Thunder appears once more
