Living My Dream
The Bright lights is where I was born to be
The thrill you get every time you set foot onto the stage
You can’t see the people but the people can see you
The anticipation that runs through your body is what keeps you going
You practice days and weeks and months on end
For those few moments you fly across the stage
But you don’t mind, not when your dreams true
The dreams they told you were crazy to peruse
You finish your piece and look up and smile
You think back to your first class,
And realize you have most definitely ran the mile
And you just stand and smile
You do this for you, not anyone else
You do this because it is what you know
You would never take back the pain you went through to get here
Because you are born a dancer
