Times of sorrow
In these times of sorrow
I reveal my true self
I let the world see the monster inside
I no longer hide behind a mask of happiness
Everyone can finally see my true form
I don't have to lie anymore
I am pathetic
I am inhuman
Yet I wake up every morning
As if yesterday never happened
With a false hope that tomorrow will be different
I am so consumed by my mask that it becomes my identity
And my true self, the monster, remains hidden
But in sorrow I no longer have to hide
I no longer have to lie to myself
The monster is unleashed
And I cannot cage it anymore
