Carnage
There's a war between my ears and it escalates with time,
I tried to kill the army but it's matter over mind.
The corporal and the general said that I'll be fine,
but the soldiers on the frontline said that I will die.
Government is falling and nobody knows why,
if time was at the market it's all that I would buy.
The chaos is a shoe string that nobody can tie,
peace is just a metaphor for tragic, hopeless lies.
Spare the evil and the damaged but sacrifice the kind,
kill the sunshine and the moonlight, leave them in the night.
Their wings are clipped and damaged, the kids just cannot fly,
left within the darkness they'll surely take their lives.
I am fighting with the demons, the ones who stain my mind,
I thought that I was dreaming, but the nightmares are my life.
They told me, “War can't lose priority or manslaughter will die,
replacing it is cheating and changing is a crime.”
I ran into the merchant he told me what to buy,
said that money's just a weapon the government supplies.
He claimed that he would trade me, my sanity for time,
Sir, I haven’t much left, but I promise you I’ll try.
