Wilderness No. 1
starless navy skies, cloaked
thinly bearded in white clouds
scantily hiding the crying face
of the barren Moon
shining down his yellow teardrops
and radiating the dark forests of azure
densely shaded by the harsh mistress, Night
who conceals the ancient coyote as he shivers alone
in the vast expanse
the treetops, starving fingers, reach up to
the dull sky in desperation
their fruitless attempts to find companionship
beyond that of their pine sisters
orange, the streetlight atop the hill
casting down it's citrus glow through the haze of immortal dark
divides the primal realm of our fair sister, Nature
from the sterile suburbs of modern man
out here at the perimeter
