New York City

A strange, exciting dream
Of busy streets
Of late nights crossing crowded times square
Bustling preztel venders calling temptation
Smell engulfing my senses
Talkative teenage tourists
At large Broadway theater
A wall of famous names in grand old theater
Flashing lights and my voice left on stage
Saw heaven from above and my empire below
Lights spread below
The city that shows no sleep
The place I intend to keep

My freshen year, I went with a group from my high school to new york before Christams. It was the first time I had been and it seemed magical. After going, I had to write create a poetry portfolio for a grade and I knew that writing about New York was the best choice.
