Water
The epitome of Blue
The color of Sadness

Oceans
The distance from me to you
The depth of my longing

The waves carried my heart away with your death
And now I’m barely afloat or alive
Treading through life, trying to get by without you

I swim
Head barely above water
Life preserver

Till the one day
Death will throw me the hollowed donut
It last threw you

Stolen
You were from me

Out of the sea,
They say there’s other fish
But I’ve taken my bait off the hook

This piece is about the death of a loved one. I wrote this for my mom after my dad died.
