Love comes and goes

I read the notes
Written in across the staff
They are written in treble
And not bass clef

I'm am not a low brass
I'm a high woodwind
This is where I belong
Sitting next to my best friend

She has been through a lot
Some troubles I know
Many I do not
Yet she plays with ease
As all are forgotten.

I still struggle
With my notes above the staff
And some below
I admit I am not perfect
But only a beginner

I still have a lot to learn
A lot about the music itself
But a lot from the lessons
Playing an instrument as to teach

Music is different
It makes you forget your reality
And slip into your own little world

And when you play something correctly
For the first time
After hours of practice
And the many wrong notes
You accomplish it
It's a great feeling

Music isn't just an escape
Music teaches us important life lessons
We couldn't learn them any place else
