My Dad
My dad is a character to say the least.
He likes to cook,
he likes to clean,
he likes to sing.
He likes to be the family maid.
He moans and groans about any mess.
I think he secretly likes the mess;
cleaning it keeps him occupied.
Does he like to cook and clean or does doing nothing just drive him crazy?
I just don't know.
When he's not cleaning or cooking, he likes to work:
A twenty-four hour shift at the firehouse
or fixing people's houses on the side.
Does he like to work or hate to be bored?
I just don't know.
At the end of the day, he loves our company.
He interrupts everyone-
just like a child desperate for attention
he:
makes up more obnoxious songs,
inquires about what we're doing
and pushes everyone’s buttons-
this gets my brother every time;
doors slam and yelling begins.
With all he does, he can have the mannerisms of child.
Has he ever grown up?
I just don't know.
But one thing I do know,
is that I love my dad.
Having a bad day?
He will make it his mission to see you smile.
Need something done?
He’ll go out if his way to get it done.
Need a friend?
He’s always there to accompany me
Whether it be a game,
A trip,
Or a TV night
My dad likes to be more of a friend
I may complain about him-
But I do appreciate him,
Whenever he is home
Dinner is cooked
Beds are made
Floors are cleaned
Laundry is done
Why would we ever consider hiring a maid?
Sometimes we argue
Sometimes we can’t stand each other
But no matter what,
One thing I do know,
Is that I love my dad.
