I watched the light
dance over your eyes.
The first night freed
from an others lies.

I was hesitant at first.
You were the unknown.
The dusk before dark,
A whole world to show.

But all of the sudden,
It was calming black.
A night without fear,
I couldn’t turn back.

And soon i learned,
how beautiful it was.
Our world full of stars
I thought it was love.

But days always come
after such magnificent nights.
Things always end,
the sun has to shine.

I watched you go.
Felt you fade out of my life.
tears fell down my cheeks,
as you whispered goodbye.

Now every so often
I remember you and smile.
Because the dark skies still remind me,
of the night your eyes first sparkled.
