The World
I want to devour the beauty
of the world,
to have it laid out like a
holiday spread
and have a taste of it all.
I want it to last until the
clocks can’t remember how to tell time
until the sky is painted with
pinks and golds and
the air smells like life does after you have your first kiss-
fresh, beautiful, and new.
I want to take the beauty of the world
and cover my body in it,
vines running up my thighs
birds upon my collarbone,
sunlight in my hair.
I want to cry because
the beauty of the world
and all we have-
it’s all so goddamn beautiful.
