It’s a cold Winter’s night tonight,
so I go back to that warm Summer day
and I sit on my bed
reminiscing of that moment where I felt most alive
time goes on without a glimpse of my sight,
gone without the slightest goodbye.
I remember things I was once missing from my memories.

I go back to when I was laying in the warm field,
sun shining down warmth on my face.
Nothing on my mind except the noises of nature cascading me like an orchestra in the midst of its piece.
The wind rustling my sun bleached hair to mix with the green grass and the colorful flowers of the field,
the crickets chirping all around my peaceful mind
and the brook whispering sweet melodies in my ear a few feet away

I then realize that
I’m still in my room,
still on my bed
on that cold Winter night
reminiscing of the past
when all I have to look forward to
is the future
and I smile.
