A Single Red Rose
June 9, 2010.
The date I will never forget.
The day I got a heart wrenching call.
The spreading of your ashes was beautiful.
Translucent, blue light shine through
What’s left of you,
Floating down
To the depths of the ocean.
We all shared
The amazing moment as watery eyes glance at others.
The day everyone wore black
Was the day I cried
More than I ever had before.
An American flag
And a single red rose
Lay upon your empty coffin.
Though you took your own life,
You strengthened mine.
