Literary Escape
Some see paper; I see an ample amount of room.
Words need to fill, dominate, and to consume.
The movement of the pen, or the clicks of the keyboard,
To bring each word’s own definitional language aboard.
Wonderful words, glide, graceful, across the page.
Scribbling down each and every word and phrase.
Words now dictate, row by row.
What’s the story? I don’t always know.
Thoughts, and feelings, once dancing in my head,
Are elegantly displayed in each line ahead.
Objectives that can’t certainly be verbally expressed;
Hold the page together, to caress in success.
Sentence structure, Figurative language and grammar galore!
With writing, there’s always something new to explore.
Plot, punctuation, show, don’t tell!
The elements of writing; I know all too well.
A writer can whole heartedly understand,
The extraordinary values of a pen and a hand.
A piece of writing consumes and takes the place;
Showing all of my pain, it’s my literary escape.
