It's scientifically proven
that it takes an average human
seven seconds to develop
a first impression,
and I was wondering how that all
played out in your mind.
Chances are, you looked at me
and saw tangled red hair and
Cupid's bow lips,
a girl with chipped nail polish
and a t-shirt from some band
you've never heard of.
But deep down somewhere,
i was kind of hoping
your eyes would meet mine
and you would see the fire burning there and the
poem in my head and there would be
some cliché spark between us
much bigger that the
5ft 8in wound into my genetics.
But then again,
that's probably too much to ask for
from the infinite seven seconds
between your eyes and mine.
