My head was crammed against the window
The emergency exit was far away
Screams echoed throughout the plane
It was kind of terrifying

Masked faces ran by
Footsteps vibrated against the floor
Passengers rose out of their seats

The pilot’s door flew open

Boom.

The impact nailed me against my seat
Explosions set in all around me
Bodies sat limp

Another boom.

More debris fell to the ground
A red stain dripped down my face
A pool of blood soaked into the earth

Sirens wailed around the fallen towers
Which sat crumbled on the pavement

Crowds gathered
Whistles blew
Taxis halted

Strapped against a board
Oxygen flowed through my nostrils
Doors slammed shut
The red engine roared to life

I was gone.

A few days later
My head was cushioned
By the pillowed bed underneath me
