Favorite Quote:
"When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade."

On a cool, winter morning,
The thick fog has just lifted.
You lay there watching
With your whole life shifted.

Trebling with tears
And soaked with snow,
You huddle in a ball
And won’t let it go.

The truth that haunts you
Surrounds your senses.
Even the cold sweat from heaven
Cannot calm your body as it tenses.

You cannot believe
What you have just seen,
But it runs through your head
Like a song stuck on repeat.

This was the unexpected,
What you didn't wish for,
But the wet gleaming blade
Was all it took as you tore.

From your happy birthday cake
To all the cheers and yelps of Christmas,
They crumble beneath the sight
Just upon the lake.

There is a dark coated man,
Who hides in your life.
Waiting for its next victim
And jabbing them with a knife.

One glance beneath the hood
Had caught your breath.
For it was your father
Crawling upon other people’s death.

The one you have loved,
Becomes this stranger
That runs away like a sheep
Whenever there is danger.

Betrayal overcomes you,
But you cannot move
When you find yourself sobering
Over the choice that was too late to choose.

It has all been too late.
You should have known before!
However, you huddle in a ball
And won’t let it go.

The author's comments:
I wrote this to inspire creative thinking when it especially comes to poems. When writing one, it allows me to release my imagination into work that may entertain or incite readers and people in general. I hope people would get a taste of my "inside creativity" and maybe even develop their own to share to the world. Poems make my day, so why shouldn't I do the same for other people?
