It may not feel like Christmas
It may not be real cold
We may not have a tree yet
We may be getting old
Our jobs may be demanding
Our house may be a mess
The dog may be annoying
The lights are not up yet
I know things are not perfect
I know things might be hard
At least we have a living
And I’ve sent out the Christmas cards
But who cares about the basics
Who cares about a tree
We have the most important thing
And that is you and me
