My once rosy cheeks now augmented by rouge blush.
Barbies replaced with boys, the real life Ken dolls.
The pigtails that held my curly locks undone and
Sweet kitty cocktails substituted with the acquired taste of bitter beer.
The ultimate game of dress up when I was adorned in white
Not only worrying about myself, but looking after someone I loved unconditionally.
Waiting up into the late hours of the night, wishing curfew wasn’t so late,
Reminiscing about the time when I was her age.
