A Full Moon
I stare out the window
And into the bright eyes of the sky
 How beautiful it is
 And how frightening.
 I squirm beneath its glare
 And awe at its gleam
For it is like nothing I have seen.
Those eyes have lived to tell
The tale of princes and kings
 Lovers and murderers.
 And how it judges me
 Looks deep within me
 I am afraid.
 It can read
 My soul so well
 And I am so very
 Uncomfortable.
 My gift is to hide
 And at night
 I am
 Vulnerable.

 My secrets
 Spill from my lips
 Like a waterfall of liquid
 Gold
 And the stars
 Listen closely
 Because they are
 the Messengers.
 They call the moon
 With gentle whispers
 Coaxing it to come closer
 And shine a little brighter
 For me.

 The old wise moon
 Watched the liquid of gold
 Turn to dust
 And the light
 Fade from my eyes
 To become hollow.
 The wise old moon
 Then told me:
 Daughter of the Earth,
 Do not fear.
 You are afraid
 Of life and afraid
 Of death,
 Because of this
 You do not really
 Live.
He shined brighter with every word
 And my ears heard nothing
 But love and
 The music of the harp.

 The moon coaxed me to
 Sleep and caressed my soul
 Asking the gentle wind
 To blow a warm breeze
 Over me
 And I fell
 Into a deep sleep
 Knowing the eyes above me
 Do not judge me
 But love me.
