Once, there was a girl.
A girl always surrounded by the
Affections of her friends.
One day, the girl met a boy.
Her friends were happy,
Very happy for them.
At first.
But time went on,
And the girl no longer spoke
To her friends.
"I love him!"
Was her excuse.
The friends became sad,
But if left untreated,
Sadness turns into spite.
And so they drifted further and further apart,
Until there came a day when
The friends passed by each other
Without so much of
A glance of recognition.
Eventually, over the tiniest of things,
There came the inevitable
Fight,
Leading to the inevitable
Breakup,
Followed by the inevitable
Tears.
So the girl went to find her friends.
"They'll understand.
They always have."
But no.
They shook their heads.
"Where were you when
We needed you?"
And the door shut,
Shutting her out,
Shutting them in.
But they both hope
That it's not for forever.
