Dawning
Black stone, black hall, black night.
The world in black and white.
Thus is the nature of the night.
The world in black and white.
Colorless.
No one to utter “God Bless.”
Helpless.
The world, colorless.
White flags, black rags.
White shivers, black rivers.
White hawk, black talk.
White light, black sight.
Ah,
But at last,
There are shades of color.
A splash of grey,
A dash of day,
To throw blackness away.
Dawn breaks.
Red and orange,
Cascading and twisting,
Like wrathful snakes.
Color at last.
Night is past.
