The Hungry Caterpillar
To me everything is The Hungry Caterpillar
I look through the colorful pages
To find drawings
These add character to the
Book of my childhood
The book that was passed down from my sister
The book I would read when my mom was in a bad mood
“ZIP IT” she’s always busy
The Hungry caterpillar was always busy
He chomped and chomped all day long
Until winter
Snow flying every where
Ice all along the house
No way could The Hungry Caterpillar ever
Live in any of those conditions
The Hungry Caterpillar will never go sledding
Or get a kiss under the mistletoe
Santa will never bring The Hungry Caterpillar gifts
“Please come home, I’m sorry”
The Hungry Caterpillar spins its cocoon
When he rises he knows he’s home
