Beautiful Beach
The water crashes onto the sand, spraying foam everywhere.
The ocean bursts with like as fish of every color swim in their world under the sea.
The massive boat looms by ominously as I watch it slowly trudge to its destination.
The sun peeks out from behind the clouds sending down rays that instantly light up the sky.
The crystal clear blue water sparkles and shimmers peacefully instantly drawing me in.
When the sun hits the shells they wink at me and twinkle like jewels.
Listening to the shrieks of my friends, I stick my toes into the frigid water.
As my sand digs in between my toes I hear the familiar crunch of sand and shells beneath my feet.
The sound of crashing waves calms me and reminds me why I love the beautiful waters.
Why does the tide come so far out and go so far back in?
Does the large shift in tides affect the plants and animals that live in its water?
Why is it that Tybee has such a great difference in high tide and low tide than any other beach in the world?
The calming winds chill me and make me look up at the sky optimistically searching for any glimmer of light.
Searching for shark teeth excites me as my hope rises every time I see something resembling a tooth only to find it’s just a shell.
Learning about the beach fills me with awe and I marvel at how significant the island was during hard times.
