Twisted faces
Standing on my doorstep
Their lips a mask of lies

Their eyes
Lost glimpses of reality
Of too many truths
That were never to be told

Surviving on secrets
Thriving on lies
Stuck in the middle
Of life
Or to die

Pity faces so cold in their hearts
Life a meaningless twister
Their hope
Still withstands
Evermore
A glimmer

life

this poem was inspired by the millions of children that never get a chance in life but still have hope.
