Raised
She was raised not to care
Not to talk to anyone
But her parents, they said “don’t you dare”
So her showing emotion was done
Soon after they did something completely unfair
They split up! How could she talk now?
In her head she couldn’t so hearing her voice was rare
She began keeping people out and emotions in somehow
As she got older her thoughts she didn’t even share
She began to feel completely alone
Even her dad stopped coming around and wasn’t there
And she was so sad and broken all the way to the bone
She felt like she was drowning unable to find air
Down she was going and fast at that
When someone tried to help or chat
She would say” I’m fine, I don’t want the lecture, that you can spare”
She wishes she could go back
To the time when she knew how to care.
